Tennis star Novak Djokovic showed his sense of humor by wearing a cycling helmet while signing autographs, a day after being struck on the head by a water bottle that slipped from a spectator's backpack.

The world number one fell to the ground but was unharmed after receiving medical attention. Organizers are investigating the incident.

Djokovic took it in stride, poking fun at himself with the protective headgear during training at the Italian Open on Saturday.

He is set to return to the court on Sunday to face Alejandro Tabilo in the round of 32.
